“As it has been said, our Sport is every other sports punishment. We do not run because it is fun, we run because it is rewarding. If the act of running was fun, when you had a Barbeque you and your friends would run a 5k rather than play Football, Volleyball, or Frisbee. Running is rewarding because it gives you the opportunity to test the very limits of your mind, body, and most of all your heart. Running is not punishment to a runner because they are looking forward to the next chance they get to find out what they are truly made of.”

“You can train for as hard and as long as you want. You can have the fastest legs and the longest stride. But if you let doubt slip into your mind before the gun goes off, none of that will matter.”
—
“Someone asked me why I run; I did not have an answer, for I was too confused on how deprived of a life he had lived to this point that I couldn’t process any other thought.”
